The National Higher Education Fund (Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional, PTPTN) was set up with the aim of providing education loans to students pursuing studies at local higher education institutions. PTPTN will assist on partial payment of the tuition fees.

*The approval of the loan will be based on the duration of the study as approved by MOHE and MQA.
Eligibility
All applicants need to meet the following requirements:
- Malaysian citizen
- 45 years and below (during time of application)
- The remaining period of study upon application must exceed one semester
- Must have no other sponsor (MARA, JPA or others)
- Must have SSPN savings account before applying for PTPTN loan.
PTPTN Loan Disbursement Terms and Conditions
Terms and Conditions
- PTPTN loan disbursements are on SEMESTER BASIS based on the total loan approved
- The first loan deduction will be made within 21 days after PTPTN receives the complete agreement
- The following deduction of loads to students from the second semester onwards will be based on the following conditions:
- Active student and still pursuing studies at approved levels
- Passed the previous semester’s examination with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 and above
- Not accepting other sponsorship/scholarship
- Students will receive RM100.00 in Bank Islam account, and the remaining balance will the automatically debited to UNITAR as a payment for the course fee on a semester basis
PTPTN Loan Disbursement Schedule
PTPTN will not disburse the payment if student fails to meet the deduction conditions. Below table shows the PTPTN loan disbursement schedule for second disbursements onwards.

PTPTN payment will be updated in the student’s statement of account within 3 working days after receiving the report from Bank Islam.
PTPTN Loan Repayment Exemption
Terms and Conditions
- Application for Bachelor’s Degree full-time only
- Obtained a Bachelor’s Degree with First Class Honours (CGPA 3.67)
- Graduated within the stipulated timeframe according to the PTPTN loan offer
- Submit the application within 12 months from the date of convocation.
Terms and conditions is subject to PTPTN discretion as of date, any changes by PTPTN in the future may change the current terms and conditions.

- The exemption can only be applied online after convocation ceremony as it will require a copy of the Bachelor’s certificate and Full Transcript.

Register for a myPTPTN account
Download myPTPTN app
- After installing the app, register personal details and verify the account with a valid email
- Conduct eKYC identity verification on mobile phone

How to Accept your PTPTN Agreement
Agreement Preperation & Submission
Once your application has been approved, please follow the following steps to submit your acceptance.

Check Online Approval
Check for PTPTN online approval via the myPTPTN website for approval notification within 7 working days after the dateline.
- Login myPTPTN website, and click “Tawaran Pemohonan Pinjaman”
- Click “Papar” to view or download your approved loan agreement.

Online OR Physical Submission
Option 1: Online Agreement Submission & Digital Signature
- Need to click “Hantar Secara Dalam Talian” to continue with the online submission.
- For online submission student need to pay RM 25.00
- RM 5 for the Digital Signature
- RM 20 for the automatic purchase of online Setem Hasil
- After successful payment of RM 25 for the online submission, check your myPTPTN inbox of your email for approval for the Setem purchase and digital signature.
- Click “tandatangan Digital” to sign your agreement
- Once submitted the “Tandatangan Digital”, check myPTPTN inbox for confirmation of acceptance of your submission from PTPTN
Please make sure to download a copy of your signed agreement, after successful submission of the agreement
Option 2: Physical Agreement Preparation
- Click “Cetak & Hantar ke Cawangan” for physical agreement submission to print the physical agreement. Make sure to print 2 sets of the agreement.
- Purchase 2 Sijil Setem (RM10.00 each)
- Sijil Setem can only be purchased at the LHDN Office from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm
- Must bring together 2 sets of the printed loan agreement together when purchasing the Sijil Setem
- Online purchase via:- https://stamps.hasil.gov.my
- Print 1 copy of your UNITAR Offer Letter (black and white printing)
How to fill up Physical PTPTN Agreement
- Print two sets of the PTPTN agreement, prepare Sijil Setem and one copy of the UNITAR offer letter and fill out both printed agreements as follows:
- Leave the front-page blank.
- From page 2 to page 8, use the current date/submission date and sign at the dedicated space, “above the dotted line”.
- Page 9, attach the Sijil Setem.
- Page 10, sign at the student signature section and find assistance for “saksi section”:Only a government officer with a grade of 41 or higher, a PTPTN officer, or UNITAR officer (Main Campus) can sign the Saksi section.
- Need official stamp and signature for “saksi section”.
- Page 11, leave it blank (for PTPTN use only).
- Page 12 until 17, sign at dedicated space “above the dotted line”.
- Fill up Lampiran A with student’s signature only.
- Attach the Unitar offer letter together with the complete agreement
IMPORTANT!
- Photocopy of agreement is strictly not allowed.
- Please ensure to use black pen only to fill up the agreement.
- Please replace the page if you make any errors. Do not use liquid paper to make correction.

Submission of Physical Agreement
Submission at the PTPTN Office.
- Submit complete documents directly to the nearest PTPTN Office.
- Submission Deadline is 14 days after the approval date.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How do I submit my PTPTN Loan Application?
To submit your PTPTN loan application:
- Log in to your myPTPTN account.
- Click “Pendaftaran Permohonan Pinjaman.”
- Enter your PTPTN Pin (or purchase one via BSN if you don’t have it).
- Fill in the application form accurately.
- Upload required documents, including your Offer Letter.
- Submit the application.
- Check your application status on myPTPTN 7 days after the deadline.
Does PTPTN provide loans for students to study overseas?
No, PTPTN loans are only available for students pursuing studies at local institutions in Malaysia.
Can PTPTN loan repayment be shortened or extended?
- Shortened: Yes, you can shorten the repayment period by paying off the loan earlier.
- Extended: No, the repayment period cannot be extended.
Note: Payments completed within 12 months after graduation will not incur any interest.
What are the conditions to extend my loan period?
Loan extension is generally not permitted. However, specific cases like programme deferment or other exceptional circumstances may be reviewed by PTPTN.
Am I eligible for the remaining loan if I complete my studies earlier?
No, if you complete your studies earlier than the specified duration, you are not eligible to receive the remaining loan balance.
Can I reapply for PTPTN if I continue my studies after completing my Diploma?
Yes, you can reapply for a new PTPTN loan when pursuing a Degree programme after completing a Diploma.
What should I do if I change or transfer to another programme?
- Notify PTPTN immediately.
- Submit updated documents, including the new offer letter and academic details.
- PTPTN will review and adjust your loan based on the new programme details.
Does PTPTN provide conversion from loan to scholarship?
Yes, PTPTN offers a conversion to scholarship for full-time Bachelor students who graduate with First Class Honours. Terms and conditions apply, please contact PTPTN for more details.
