English Proficiency Requirements for Malaysian Students
UNITAR Bachelor programmes
Malaysian students who enroll in UNITAR Bachelor programmes must fulfill the following English proficiency requirements:
- Students who have a distinction in English Language at the SPM/SPMV level are not required to take additional English courses.
- Students who have credit in English Language at the SPM/SPMV level are required to take additional English courses (refer to the table below for placement purposes).
- Students who do not have a credit in English Language at the SPM/SPMV level are required to take the English Enhancement Programme before registering for their Faculty courses (an internal assessment could be arranged with the HOD Language and General Studies).
- Students from a different institution are required to apply for exemption if they studied any English courses (students are encouraged to attach the syllabus of the courses they have taken in the previous institution).

Foundation and Diploma Programmes
Malaysian students who have enrolled into UNITAR Foundation and Diploma programmes are required to take ALL English courses listed in their respective programme structures, beginning with English 1 (Diploma) and Listening and Speaking Skills (Foundation).
Required Documents for Registration
Undergraduate
- Pre-printed Registration Form.
- Original results of SPM, STPM or A Levels or Certificate or Diploma, academic transcripts and documents of other academic qualifications.
- Original and photocopy of your MyKad.
- Original and Certified true copy of MUET result (if any)
- Minimum fee payment of RM520. Payments are to be made by Cash/Credit Card/CIMB Clicks/Cheque/Bank Draft/Postal Order Money Order, made payable to “UNITAR CAPITAL SDN BHD”
- 3 passport-sized photographs
Postgraduate
- Pre-printed Registration Form
- Original results of SPM, Bachelor degree scroll or Master scroll, academic transcripts and documents of other academic qualifications
- Original and photocopy of your MyKad
- Original and Certified true copy of MUET result (if any)
- Minimum fee payment of RM520. Payments are to be made by Cash/Credit Card/CIMB Clicks/Cheque/Bank Draft/Postal Order Money Order, made payable to “UNITAR CAPITAL SDN BHD”
- 3 passport-sized photographs
