UNITAR’s Doctor in Business Administration online course is accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and approved by the Ministry of Education Malaysia.
As the first university in Southeast Asia to be awarded a QS 5-star rating for online learning, students of UNITAR will experience quality online education through our online DBA course. What this means is that students will have access to professional online student services and technology, supportive student-faculty engagement as well as opportunities for coursemate and alumni interactions, among others. There is flexibility in consultation hours with supervisors based on the prior appointments made.

> Course Structure and Grading
Students can opt for either full-time or part-time study when enrolling for the online DBA programme. The duration of the study is a minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 6 years (full-time), while it’s a minimum of 4 years and a maximum of 8 years (part-time).
The online postgraduate course is 100% coursework with only 5 courses to complete. In other words, there is no comprehensive examination and no final examination. The dissertation is assessed and graded with “satisfactory” or “pass”, “unsatisfactory” or “fail”, which will not be included in the CGPA calculation.
Lessons will also include doctoral seminars to provide industrial perspectives to candidates.

Course information
Entry Requirements
i. A pass in STPM with at least Grade C (GP 2.0) in any TWO subjects*; OR
ii. A pass in STAM with at least Grade Jayyid*; OR
iii. Matriculation or Foundation with at least CGPA of 2.00; OR
iv. A Diploma (Level 4, MQF) with at least CGPA of 2.00; OR
v. An Advanced Diploma (Level 5, MQF) with at least CGPA of 2.00; OR
vi. A Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) subjected to HEP Senate / Academic Board’s approval***; OR
vii. A Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM) subjected to HEP Senate / Academic Board’s approval***;
Note for (vi) & (vii): The HEPs are to conduct screening and provide necessary guidance specific to the discipline of the programme. OR
viii. Other equivalent qualification recognized by the Malaysian Government.
ix. For international student, achieve a minimum Band 3 in MUET OR equivalent to CEFR (Low B2)**.
* Additional requirement: A pass in Mathematics and English at SPM level or equivalent qualifications (Refer to the Notes (*) below this table).
(English subject requirement does not apply to international students since they are required to meet certain scores of international English examination and privileged with certain exemptions)
- Can be waived should any other higher qualifications contain Mathematics and English subjects with an equivalent/higher achievement.
- Malaysian students using English as the medium of instruction in their previous study or with at least Band 2 in MUET or equivalent can be exempted from a pass in English requirement.
- Those without a pass in Mathematics and/or English at SPM level or equivalent can be admitted but are required to attend special enhancement course(s). These special enhancement courses should be SPM equivalent, remedial in nature. Students must pass the Mathematics and English enhancement courses as a prerequisite to related core courses taught in English.
