Programme Entry Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6, MQF) in computing or related fields , with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 as accepted by the Senate; OR
  • A Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6, MQF) in computing or related fields or its equivalent, with a minimum CGPA of 2.00, can be accepted subject to subject to a minimum of FIVE (5) years of working experience in the related fields and rigorous internal assessment ; OR
  • Other qualifications equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in the field of Computing or related fields recognised by the Government of Malaysia must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses as determined by the UNITAR; OR
  • *Candidates without a qualification in the related fields or relevant working experience must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses as determined by the HEP and meet aminimum CGPA of 2.00 with minimum of FIVE (5) years of working experience in the related fields, and rigorous internal assessment.

(*Rigorous internal assessment and their working experiences will determine the appropriate prerequisite courses required for candidates. If the assessment fulfils the requirements, the candidates can be exempted from taking the prerequisite courses)

The Programme Learning Outcomes (PLO) of this programme is to prepare graduates who are able to:

  1. Policies and practices to monitor and prevent unauthorised access, misuse, modification and denial of service of a computer network and resources.
  2. Programming languages including markup languages and multimedia packages to create applications for the web.
  3. Methods, processes, algorithms and statistical models that computer systems run to perform tasks without explicit instructions by mimicking human intelligence.
  4. Giant network of connected devices including wireless sensors, software, actuators and computer devices to improve our work and life.
  5. To record transactions efficiently in a verifiable and permanent way in regard to potential applications in multiple industries such as the financial industry, governments, identity management and healthcare.
