UNITAR Recognised As The Educational Institution Brand of Choice At The Putra Brand Awards 2020

UNITAR International University was recognised for being the people’s choice in education and learning at the “money can’t buy” Putra Brand Awards 2020 as voted by the public.

Petaling Jaya, 10 February 2020. UNITAR International University (“UNITAR”) over the recent weekend received the highest brand accolade for the education and learning sector with the “Platinum Putra Brand Award 2020” as a sought-after brand of choice in Malaysia.

Launched in 2010 in association with Malaysia’s Most Valuable Brands (MMVB), the Putra Brands Award (PBA), also known as the “People’s Choice Award” and the only brand awards in the country endorsed by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), recognises Malaysia’s favourite brands based on public interviews and votes.

UNITAR had previously won the Bronze award for the same category in both 2015 and 2018. When asked about the latest achievement, UNITAR’s Chief Executive Officer Puvan Balanchandran said, “The UNITAR brand has grown with Malaysians since its inception in 1997 as the first virtual university in Southeast Asia to offer distance learning in the then very niche market. The key is accessibility for all – from innovative learning solutions that could be delivered to students wherever they are, to affordability and access to financial support for its students via the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN).”
