3 Types of Diplomas Available at UNITAR’s School of Media, Art & Design

The three main pillars of UNITAR’s creative courses ride in the School of Media, Art and Design. The configurations for each course are taught by lecturers who are on-field experts for which their prior knowledge can provide students with real-world solutions for difficulties they might experience when they start working. UNITAR also serves as an Art and Design university in Malaysia that caters to students coming from west and east Malaysia. 

1.Diploma in Fashion Design

If you are passionate about fashion, UNITAR provides the necessary needs for designers in order for you to explore your inner Donatella Versace and make a mark for yourself within the industry. By the end of the diploma course, you will have developed skills to strategically create ideas, and draw out what you envision while having a wide range of fabric choice ideas. Aside from these skills, you will also pick up the ability to fit garments to go along with your designs. The wide range of job opportunities for students who pick up the Diploma in Fashion Designing programme consists of becoming an assistant designer, fashion design artist, pattern maker and various other roles. 

2.Diploma in Interior Design

Our interior designing courses encourage students to develop aesthetic skills by bringing out the best within a housing space, while at the same time, each addition to the space provides a functional value. Students at UNITAR are exposed to interior design trends, digital advancements like computer-aided 3D systems and conducting the necessary research. The main career prospects after completing your Diploma in Interior design are interior consulting, interior designing, retail designing, 3D visualising and more! 

3.Diploma in Animation Design

Students who are interested in acquiring a Diploma in Animation Design are provided with all the necessities required to produce quality rendering. Tutored with trade secrets from lecturers who are well-known in the field, students are also exposed to group projects to replicate work-life situations. Hence, UNITAR students have the added advantage of knowing what to expect in the industry and are better prepared when employed. Animation design job opportunities that graduates should expect are motion designing, multimedia designing, 2D/3D animating and other postings. 

Our School of Media, Art & Design offers diploma programmes that have better student affordability compared to other private universities in Malaysia, providing the foundation for students to receive art and design jobs upon graduation. Additionally, we also have the I-Future Scholarship for UNITAR Students that entitles eligible students from a 10% to 100% fee waiver for all foundation and diploma programmes based on SPM/O-Level grades and other criteria. Alternatively, students have the option to apply for government financial aid and education loans including PTPTN.
