Bachelor of Communication (Hons) is an interesting area of study encompassing several disciplines. Students develop an understanding of the different forms of communication, including interpersonal, intercultural and business communication, together with the various technologies through which information is communicated.

Programme Entry Requirements
You must meet the following requirements in order to be considered for entry to the UNITAR Bachelor's Programme:
  • Pass STPM with a minimum of Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in two (2) subjects and credit in English in SPM; OR
  • Pass STAM with a minimum of Grade Jayyid and credit in English in SPM; OR
  • Pass Diploma with a minimum of CGPA 2.00 and credit in English in SPM;  OR
  • Pass Diploma in Media and Communication or its equivalent; and pass SPM with credit in English;  OR
  • Pass Matriculation/ Foundation with a minimum CGPA of 2.00, and credit in English in SPM; OR
  • Pass UEC with a minimum of Grade B in five (5) subjects; OR
  • Any other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government;  OR
  • Applicants into the Bachelor’s programmes (level 6, MQF) through APEL, must be a Malaysian citizen aged more than 21 years of age in the year of application with relevant work experience/ prior experiential learning and passed APEL assessment.

LOCAL STUDENTS

Malaysian students who enroll in UNITAR Bachelor programmes must fulfill the following English proficiency requirements:
  • Students who have a distinction in English Language at the SPM/SPMV level are not required to take additional English courses.
  • Students who have credit in English Language at the SPM/SPMV level are required to take additional English courses. (Refer to the table below for placement purposes.)
  • Students who do not have a credit in English Language at the SPM/SPMV level are required to take the English Enhancement Programme before registering for their Faculty courses. (An internal assessment could be arranged with the HOD Language and General Studies.)
  • Students from a different institution are required to apply for exemption if they studied any English courses. (Students are encouraged to attach the syllabus of the courses they have taken in the previous instituition.)
