Bachelor of Culinary Arts is a study in the broad areas of food preparation, cooking methods and technologies used in the production of food. This course prepares students to enter into and manage culinary businesses in an increasingly globally competitive environment.

Programme Entry Requirements
You must meet the following requirements in order to be considered for entry to the UNITAR Bachelor's Programme:
  • Pass Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum NGMP of 2.00 or obtained Grade C in two (2) subjects; OR
  • A recognized Diploma with a minimum CGPA of at least 2.00; OR
  • Pass Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with a Grade B in five (5) subjects; OR
  • A recognized Matriculation, Foundation or Pre University qualification with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; OR
  • Any other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government; OR
  • Bachelor’s program (level 6, MQF) through APEL. Applicants must be a Malaysian citizen aged more than 21 years of age in the year of application with relevant work experience/ prior experiential learning and passed APEL assessment.

Career Prospects

Malaysian students who enroll in UNITAR Bachelor programmes must fulfill the following English proficiency requirements:
  • Students who have a distinction in English Language at the SPM/SPMV level are not required to take additional English courses.
  • Students who have credit in English Language at the SPM/SPMV level are required to take additional English courses. (Refer to the table below for placement purposes.)
  • Students who do not have a credit in English Language at the SPM/SPMV level are required to take the English Enhancement Programme before registering for their Faculty courses. (An internal assessment could be arranged with the HOD Language and General Studies.)
  • Students from a different institution are required to apply for exemption if they studied any English courses. (Students are encouraged to attach the syllabus of the courses they have taken in the previous instituition.)
