Bachelor of Education (Hons) provides insight into various areas within the wide field of education. Students will learn communication and critical thinking skills as well as management and leadership in education. Today, educators are one of the most valued professional groups, making this course especially important for educators of the future.
  • 3 majors: Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), Mathematics and Bahasa Melayu
  • Students majoring in Bachelor of Education (TESL), will obtain an additional Certificate in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) as well

Programme Entry Requirements
You must meet the following requirements in order to be considered for entry to the UNITAR Bachelor's Programme:
  • Pass STPM with a minimum of Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in two (2) subjects;  OR
  • Pass STAM with a minimum of Grade Jayyid; OR
  • Pass Diploma with a minimum of CGPA of 2.00;  OR
  • Pass Matriculation / Foundation with a minimum CGPA of 2.00;
  • Applicants into the Bachelor’s programmes (level 6, MQF) through APEL, must be a Malaysian citizen aged more than 21 years of age in the year of application with relevant work experience/ prior experiential learning and passed APEL assessment.

Malaysian students who enroll in UNITAR Bachelor programmes must fulfill the following English proficiency requirements:
  • Students who have a distinction in English Language at the SPM/SPMV level are not required to take additional English courses.
  • Students who have credit in English Language at the SPM/SPMV level are required to take additional English courses. (Refer to the table below for placement purposes.)
  • Students who do not have a credit in English Language at the SPM/SPMV level are required to take the English Enhancement Programme before registering for their Faculty courses. (An internal assessment could be arranged with the HOD Language and General Studies.)
  • Students from a different institution are required to apply for exemption if they studied any English courses. (Students are encouraged to attach the syllabus of the courses they have taken in the previous instituition.)
