The Diploma in Fashion Design is designed to provide skills of fashion designing and fabrication. It is a fully project-based course which offers an exquisite standard of broad-based knowledge to develop creative awareness and advanced understanding of fashion and textile industry. The students will be introduced to its art and design cycles which consist of drawing, sewing technical and material science via ‘real-world classrooms’, hands-on exercises and industrial equipment as well as Web 2.0 applications.
The lecturers are industry professionals themselves; experts who developed the curriculum and share their passion in experiential learning.
It aims to develop students as a Fashion Design artist and technical experts who are self-motivated to compete in creative industry as fashion designing is considered as one of the best paying career providing innumerable choices for students after completing their studies.
You must meet the following requirements in order to be considered for entry to the UNITAR Diploma Programme :
Pass Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with minimum 3Cs; OR
Pass in Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with minimum 3Bs; OR
Pass in IGCSE/O-Level with minimum 3Cs; OR
Pass Certificate (equivalent to MQF Level 3) in relevant field; OR
Pass Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 3 in ARTS and Design Field and pass SPM with minimum 1 credit; OR
Other equivalent recognition which are recognised by Malaysian Government
Note: Candidates who do not have a pass in Arts subject in SPM level or its equivalent, need to pass Portfolio Review conducted by the University.

LOCAL STUDENTS
Malaysian students who enroll in UNITAR Bachelor programmes must fulfill the following English proficiency requirements:
Students who have a distinction in English Language at the SPM/SPMV level are not required to take additional English courses.
Students who have credit in English Language at the SPM/SPMV level are required to take additional English courses. (Refer to the table below for placement purposes.)
Students who do not have a credit in English Language at the SPM/SPMV level are required to take the English Enhancement Programme before registering for their Faculty courses. (An internal assessment could be arranged with the HOD Language and General Studies.)
Students from a different institution are required to apply for exemption if they studied any English courses. (Students are encouraged to attach the syllabus of the courses they have taken in the previous instituition.)
