Why this course

Our Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) programme is designed to produce professionally focused and psychologically oriented psychologists who are prepared to address intellectual, emotional, social and psychological needs of individuals.

Graduates of this programme are prepared to coordinate the resources of the workplace and the community in order to meet the needs of clients. It also helps them to acquire the knowledge, skills, abilities and behaviours needed of psychologist.

At UNITAR, students will be trained in FOUR aspects: theoretical, RESEARCH, industry-based project AND internship training.

Programme Entry Requirements

  • A pass in STPM or its equivalent, with a minimum of Grade C (GPA 2.00) in any two (2) subjects with credit in Mathematics and Science at SPM level; OR
  • Matriculation/Foundation or its equivalent, with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 with credit in Mathematics and Science at SPM level; OR
  • A pass in STAM with a minimum grade of Jayyid and at least credits in Mathematics and Biology/ Physics/ Chemistry/ General Science/ Applied Science and a pass in English at SPM level*; OR
  • A Diploma or its equivalent, with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 with credit in Mathematics and Science at SPM level; OR
  • A Diploma in Psychology with minimum CGPA 2.00; OR
  • Pass Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM)/ Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM)/ Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 in relevant field subject to the approval of the Senate a credit in English at SPM or its equivalent and MUST attend bridging courses;​ OR​
  • Pass DKM/ DLKM/ DVM with at least CGPA 2.00 AND have at least two (2) years of work experience in the relevant field and MUST attend bridging courses; OR
  • An Advanced Diploma (Level 5, MQF) in the relevant fields with at least CGPA of 2.00 out of 4:00 and at least credits in Mathematics and Biology/ Physics/ Chemistry/ General Science/ Applied Science and a pass in English at SPM level; OR
  • Other relevant or equivalent qualification, experience and requirement accepted by UNITAR Senate / competent authority in Malaysia​

Required to take English Preparatory 2:
  • Credit in SPM / SPMV English
